Edan Acclarix AX3 Vet Veterinary Ultrasound System
Portable veterinary ultrasound with a 4.5 kg magnesium alloy body, dual sockets, dual batteries and Tissue Adaptive Imaging.
ICEN supplies selected professional medical equipment. Product availability and market authorization vary by country.
A 4.5 kg system that travels without a cart
The Acclarix AX3 Vet is the portable end of the Acclarix veterinary range. At 4.5 kilograms in a magnesium alloy body it can be carried between rooms or into the field, and Edan fits dual batteries rather than one.
Its image processing is built on Tissue Adaptive Imaging, which Edan applies to compensate for tissue characteristics instead of relying only on fixed presets. Dedicated veterinary presets and measurement packages are included, along with a customisable user interface.
Dual transducer sockets let two probes stay connected, and nine transducer types are listed for the platform, from linear and micro-convex through to phased array and volume probes. Images and loops export as DICOM, PDF, AVI or BMP over the network.

Common questions about Edan Acclarix AX3 Vet Veterinary Ultrasound System
How portable is it really?
4.5 kilograms in a magnesium alloy body, with dual batteries. That is light enough to carry between rooms and to take on visits without a cart.
What is Tissue Adaptive Imaging?
It is Edan’s image-processing approach that adapts to tissue characteristics rather than applying one fixed set of parameters, which reduces the need to hand-tune for each patient.
How many probes can be connected?
Two sockets. Nine transducer types are listed for the platform.
Is it suitable for cardiac work?
Edan does not publish a mode list for the AX3 Vet on the product page, so cardiac capability depends on the probe and software package ordered. Ask ICEN to confirm before specifying it for echocardiography.
What screen does it have?
Edan describes a high-sensitivity touch screen but does not publish its size or resolution. Ask ICEN for the datasheet.
How does it compare with the AX8 Vet?
The AX8 is a cart-based platform with a 15-inch tilt-and-swivel monitor and dual gesture control touch screens. The AX3 is the 4.5 kg portable alternative.
