Mindray VS 9 Vital Signs Monitor
Mindray VS 9 vital signs monitor with a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, TrueResp respiration from the SpO2 sensor, sidestream CO2 and an orthostatic hypotension tool.
ICEN supplies selected professional medical equipment. Product availability and market authorization vary by country.
A vital signs monitor that adds respiration from SpO2, sidestream CO2 and fall-risk assessment
The Mindray VS 9 is the larger-screen model in the same vital signs family as the VS 8. It measures non-invasive blood pressure, SpO2, temperature and respiration, and adds two capabilities that the VS 8 does not list: respiration rate derived from the SpO2 finger sensor, and an optional ARTEMA sidestream CO2 module.
Respiration can therefore be measured without a separate manual count, and the CO2 option extends the monitor to capnography with a 50 ml/min sampling rate. Mindray states the same 15-second TrueBP inflation NIBP measurement and the same choice of Mindray, Masimo SET or Nellcor SpO2.
The VS 9 also carries an orthostatic hypotension assessment tool. Because orthostatic hypotension is a recognised contributor to falls, the tool supports fall-risk evaluation during routine observations rather than adding a separate procedure.
Applications
- Ward observations where respiration must be measured automatically
- Postural blood pressure series for fall-risk assessment
- Capnography-assisted respiratory monitoring on the general floor
- Early warning score based deterioration surveillance
Who is this product for?
- General wards and medical-surgical floors
- Care of the elderly and falls-prevention programmes
- Respiratory and high-dependency step-down units
- Hospitals standardising on BeneVision central monitoring

Choose between the VS 8 and VS 9 mainly on screen size, whether respiration should come from the SpO2 sensor, and whether capnography is needed on the ward. For continuous waveform monitoring or multi-parameter acuity, compare with the patient monitors in the same category.
Common questions about Mindray VS 9 Vital Signs Monitor
How does the VS 9 differ from the VS 8?
The VS 9 has a 10.1-inch screen against the VS 8’s 8-inch screen, records respiration from the SpO2 finger sensor using TrueResp, offers an ARTEMA sidestream CO2 module, and adds an orthostatic hypotension assessment tool. Both share the TrueBP 15-second NIBP measurement, automatic EWS scoring and BP Average.
Does the VS 9 measure respiration without a manual count?
Yes. On the VS 9 the respiration rate is recorded from the SpO2 finger sensor using Mindray TrueResp technology, instead of the on-screen manual timer used on the VS 8.
Is CO2 available on the VS 9?
Mindray lists an ARTEMA sidestream CO2 option with a 50 ml/min sampling rate. Availability depends on market and configuration, so confirm with ICEN before ordering.
What is the orthostatic hypotension tool for?
It helps recognise orthostatic hypotension during a postural blood pressure series. Mindray positions it as a way to help reduce avoidable falls through earlier identification of at-risk patients.
Can the VS 9 be managed across a hospital fleet?
The VS 9 works with Mindray M-IoT Device Manager, which reports device status and diagnostics so biomedical engineering can manage the installed base.
Where should we confirm detailed specifications?
Mindray publishes feature-level information for the VS 9 but not NIBP, SpO2 or temperature ranges on the product page. Ask ICEN for the current specification sheet and confirm which SpO2, temperature and CO2 options are available in your market.
