A mid-acuity monitor that takes plug-in CO2 and gas modules without leaving the bedside
The Mindray ePM 12M is the middle size in the ePM 10M / 12M / 15M family, a line Mindray presents as the successor to its Passport monitors. It carries 3 and 5-lead ECG, Masimo SET SpO2, non-invasive blood pressure, respiration and temperature as integrated parameters, with arrhythmia analysis including atrial fibrillation detection as standard.
The differentiator is modularity. A plug-and-play extension rack accepts CO2, multi-gas and invasive blood pressure modules, and the ePM 12M is the smaller of the two models that can take the multi-gas module. That makes it usable both as a ward monitor and as a compact anaesthesia or recovery monitor without buying a second device.
On screen it uses a 12.1-inch 1280 x 800 capacitive multi-touch display showing up to 10 waveforms. Mindray states that 90 percent of common monitoring functions are reachable in two steps, with up to 18 configurable quick keys, and that remote view supports up to 12 patients bed-to-bed.
Applications
- General ward and step-down continuous monitoring
- Recovery and post-anaesthesia care with CO2 or gas monitoring
- Compact operating-room monitoring where floor space is limited
- Ambulatory surgery centres and clinics
Who is this product for?
- Hospitals standardising a single monitor platform across acuity levels
- Recovery and PACU units needing gas monitoring without a full anaesthesia machine
- Day-surgery and endoscopy suites
- Sites migrating from Mindray Passport monitors

The ePM family sits between the uMEC series and the high-acuity BeneVision N-series. Choose ePM where you need plug-in CO2, gas or invasive pressure modules on a mid-acuity ward; choose uMEC for essential parameters only, and BeneVision N for high-acuity continuous monitoring.
Common questions about Mindray ePM 12M Patient Monitor
What is the difference between the ePM 12M and the ePM 10M?
Both share the same platform and parameter set, but the ePM 12M has a 12.1-inch 1280 x 800 display with up to 10 waveforms and supports the multi-gas module. The ePM 10M has a 10.1-inch display, up to 8 waveforms, and does not take the multi-gas module.
Can the ePM 12M monitor anaesthetic gases?
Yes. Mindray lists the multi-gas module as available on the ePM 12M and ePM 15M, covering CO2, N2O, O2 and the volatile agents. That is what allows it to serve as a compact recovery or operating-room monitor.
Which SpO2 technologies are available?
Masimo SET is the integrated SpO2 option, with Nellcor OxiMax available as an alternative. The specification sheet publishes separate accuracy figures for each.
How much waveform history is stored?
The ePM 12M stores 48 hours of full-disclosure waveform data and up to 1000 events, including parameter alarms, arrhythmia events and technical alarms.
Does it integrate with our EMR?
The monitor connects to BeneVision central monitoring, and Mindray eGateway provides HL7 and DIAP interfaces for EMR integration.
Can one monitor be used across wards and recovery?
That is the intended use of the modular ePM platform: the same device covers ward monitoring and, with CO2, multi-gas or IBP modules fitted, recovery and theatre monitoring. Confirm the module set you need with ICEN.
