A floor-standing workhorse for medium laboratories
The BS-380 is a floor-standing, discrete and random-access chemistry analyzer running a constant 300 tests per hour, and up to 450 tests per hour when the ISE module for potassium, sodium and chloride is fitted. Mindray positions it as the main instrument for a medium-sized laboratory and as a back-up instrument in a large one.
The reagent tray is refrigerated around the clock, so reagents stay onboard between shifts instead of being returned to storage. Cuvettes are reusable and pass through an automatic washing station, which keeps consumable cost down over the life of the instrument.
On the hardware side the BS-380 uses a reversed grating optical system with 12 wavelengths, two-in-one independent mixing bars, and probes with automatic cleaning, liquid-level sensing and collision protection in both vertical and horizontal directions. Pre-dilution and post-dilution are supported for samples outside the measuring range, and the unit carries a built-in barcode scanner and a bidirectional LIS interface.

The BS-380 is the middle of Mindray’s floor-standing chemistry range: constant 300 T/H with continuous reagent refrigeration. Step up to the BS-480 for higher throughput and larger onboard capacity, or down to the BS-240E for a benchtop footprint.
Common questions about Mindray BS-380 Chemistry Analyzer
What throughput can we expect?
A constant 300 tests per hour, rising to 450 tests per hour with the ISE module for potassium, sodium and chloride. Constant means the rate holds rather than peaking on batch runs.
Do reagents need to be refrigerated separately?
The reagent tray is refrigerated and runs for 24 hours, so reagents can stay onboard between shifts instead of being moved to a refrigerator.
Are the cuvettes reusable?
Yes. The BS-380 uses reusable cuvettes with an automatic washing station, which reduces consumable cost compared with disposable cuvettes.
How does it compare with the BS-240E and BS-480?
The BS-240E is benchtop at 240 T/H; the BS-380 is floor-standing at 300 T/H; the BS-480 runs 400 T/H with 80 reagent and 90 sample positions. Choose by workload and menu size.
Does it connect to our LIS?
Yes. The analyzer has a bi-directional LIS interface and a built-in barcode scanner.
What about samples outside the measuring range?
The BS-380 supports pre-dilution and post-dilution for samples, so high or low results can be handled without re-running the sample manually.
