Anesthesia systems
The anesthesia range covers the WATO EX-35 for routine surgical lists, the A5 for mid-acuity operating rooms, and the A7 and A9 for high-acuity and teaching-hospital requirements. The A7 and A9 use an 18.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 360-degree rotation, which matters in theatres where the machine is operated from more than one side of the table.
Anesthesia specification is driven by patient mix, case mix and how the theatre will be used. A day-surgery list and a teaching hospital performing complex cases do not need the same platform, and the difference is mostly in monitoring integration, ventilation modes and the ability to log and review cases.
Monitoring and infusion in theatre
The same monitoring platforms used in ICU cover theatre. The BeneVision N1 works as a standalone monitor, as an N-Series module, or as a transport monitor, so monitoring continues when a patient moves between theatre, recovery and ICU. The BeneFusion range adds volumetric infusion pumps (eVP and nVP), syringe pumps (eSP and nSP) and infusion supervision systems (eDS and nDS).
Because these devices share consumables and staff training with the rest of the hospital, theatres are usually specified together with ICU and the wards rather than in isolation.
