Ventilation
Critical care ventilation splits into three practical groups. The SV300, SV600 and SV800 are ICU ventilators; the SV600 and SV800 both support adult, paediatric and neonatal patients with a neonatal tidal volume range starting at 2 mL. The TV50 and TV80 are transport ventilators for intra-hospital and inter-facility movement, and the SV70 / SV70S covers non-invasive ventilation for respiratory care.
Choosing between them is mostly a question of patient mix and where the ventilator has to work, not of catalogue tier. A general ICU that never ventilates neonates does not need the same platform as a unit that does, and a department that moves patients between wards needs transport capability the bedside fleet cannot provide.
Patient monitoring
Monitoring for critical care is modular: BeneVision N1, N12, N17 and N19, the ePM 10, ePM 12, ePM 12M and ePM 15, the uMEC 10, and the VS 8 and VS 9 vital signs monitors.
The BeneVision N1 is deliberately three devices in one - an independent bedside monitor, an N-Series multi-parameter module, and a transport monitor. It weighs approximately 950 g, carries a 5.5-inch HD capacitive touchscreen at 1280x720, runs up to 8 hours on battery with a docking-station dual-power option, and is rated IP44 with 1.2 m six-surface drop endurance. Because the same unit slides into a BeneVision N12 and can drive a 19-inch external display, monitoring can continue uninterrupted from bedside to transport.
The N12 adds a wide-angle HD display showing up to 8 waveforms, brings approximately 90% of common operations within two steps, uses iAlarm technology to reduce nuisance alarms, and retains up to 48 hours of full disclosure. It accepts advanced ECG options including QT/QTc, atrial fibrillation detection and 12-lead interpretation, and connects through BeneVision DMS, eGateway and HL7.
Defibrillation and cardiac care
The cardiac range covers BeneHeart D3, D6, D30 and D60 defibrillator/monitors, the BeneHeart C2 automated external defibrillator, the BeneHeart R300 and R12 electrocardiographs and the VS 600 vital signs monitor.
In practice these are specified together with the monitor fleet, because crash-cart defibrillators and ward monitors share consumables, electrodes and staff training. Treating them as one decision usually costs less than buying them as separate projects.

How to specify critical care equipment
Patient population
Adult-only, paediatric or neonatal capability drives both the ventilator and the monitor decision, and is the single most common cause of re-specification later.
Ventilation strategy
Invasive, non-invasive or both. Units that run NIV alongside invasive ventilation often need a different mix from purely invasive ICUs.
Monitoring parameters and modularity
Decide which parameters are needed at the bedside versus in transit, and whether the platform must accept additional modules later.
Transport continuity
If patients move between ICU, theatre and imaging, specify monitors that continue monitoring during the move instead of re-cabling at each stage.
