Edan U60 Vet Veterinary Ultrasound System
Desktop veterinary ultrasound with a 15-inch monitor, dual transducer ports connected simultaneously, triplex imaging and full CW Doppler.
ICEN supplies selected professional medical equipment. Product availability and market authorization vary by country.
Two probes live at once, on a 15-inch screen
The U60 Vet is the larger desktop system in Edan’s veterinary general imaging range. The 15-inch monitor is the visible difference; the operational difference is that two transducer ports are connected simultaneously, so switching between, say, a convex and a linear probe does not mean unplugging anything mid-examination.
Image processing follows the same family as the U50: tissue harmonic imaging, spatial compounding, speckle reduction and multi-beam acquisition. The U60 adds triplex imaging, which shows B-mode, colour flow and spectral Doppler together, and it retains the full PW, CW and HPRF Doppler set.
Practical tools include pan zoom, needle guide for sampling and a dual live display. Edan lists twelve probe types for the platform, covering small animal, large animal and rectal work.
Applications
- Small animal abdominal and cardiac imaging

Simultaneous dual ports and a 15-inch monitor are the reasons to pick the U60 over the U50. Where several probes are used in one examination, that convenience compounds across a working day.
Common questions about Edan U60 Vet Veterinary Ultrasound System
What does dual transducer port mean in practice?
Two probes can be connected at the same time, so a clinician can move between a convex probe for the abdomen and a linear probe for superficial work without unplugging anything.
What is triplex imaging?
It displays B-mode, colour flow and spectral Doppler simultaneously, which is useful when you need to place the sample volume and see flow in the same view.
Does it support CW Doppler?
Yes. Edan lists PW, CW and HPRF for this system.
How does it compare with the U2 Vet?
The U2 is a trolley system with four active transducer sockets and a 15-inch display (19-inch optional). The U60 is a desktop unit with dual simultaneous ports and triplex imaging.
Is DICOM supported?
Edan does not state DICOM on the U60 Vet product page, although it is listed for the U50. Confirm the connectivity package with ICEN before ordering.
What is not published?
Screen resolution, weight, dimensions and battery time are not stated for the U60 Vet. Ask ICEN for the datasheet.
